Question: When and how did you come to realize you were an “influencer”?

Answer: I think I knew that I had something going as an online influencer when people outside of the internet world, in my community began to tell me that they tried something I had suggested to them. It’s always very humbling when someone takes their money and time and invests it into a simple suggestion of yours. I don’t take that lightly or for granted!

Question: What platforms do you currently focus on and why?

Answer: I focus a LOT of my time on Instagram because that’s where I get the most interaction. I am currently exploring all facets of the app and diving into IGTV this year!

Question: Where do you see the industry heading?

Answer: That’s a really good question. I honestly don’t know I would like to think that in the coming years, influencer marketing would be a standard part of advertising and marketing for most, if not all, businesses. I hope that all business begin to learn the benefits of true and authentic influencer marketing.

Question: What inspires you the most to create content?

Answer: I consider myself an inspirational lifestyle influencer, so I focus my content on helping and encouraging my audience. I love to make them feel like we’re friends. I love responses and reactions where they are laughing and feeling better about their lives. All the fancy fun lifestyle stuff just falls into place.

Question: How hard was it for you to build the audience you have today?

Answer: I strongly believe in the concept of “build it and they will come.” The hard part about building your audience is knowing and loving yourself enough to know that you have something that the world needs and to continuously show it regardless of the numbers. Pair that with niche and industry research to attract your audience and you’ll be growing authentically little by little with people that will be LOYAL to your brand for the long run.

Question: Tell us about what being an influencer has taught you?

Answer: Since becoming an influencer I have learned the importance of choosing partnerships that benefit you and your audience. There are a lot of partnerships with businesses that look amazing, but don’t always align with your personal preferences or the interest of your audience. No matter how good the deal looks or if there is scarcity in partnerships, always consider your personal brand and your audience.

Question: What are your favorite brands to partner with and why?

Answer: I enjoy make-up brands and children's brands, but my favorite are brands that offer experiences. I love when I can share my take on an experience with my audience.

Question: What would you have done differently starting out as an influencer?

Answer: I would trust myself and my process more. There were a lot of times when I struggled to stay consistent or true because I didn't have my blinders on. I lacked tunnel vision and it cost me time and time again.

Question: What is something your followers don’t know about you?

Answer: I genuinely care about them and pray for them regularly. <3

Question: If you have one piece of advice to give to someone starting out in the industry, what would it be?

Answer: Learn your audience (or target audience) and stay true to you. You will always get sidetracked if you’re looking at someone else’s innovation with the intention to copy. Be inspired, but remember to keep your flair on all things, your growing audience will always value your authenticity.
